FUNDRAISING FOR POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS
This can be the most challenging part of any campaign. Our short description of what we can provide will help you in determining if we are a right fit for you.

PURPOSE
Support the campaign in developing policies to guide the fundraising and public outreach programs of
the organization.
Support the campaign in fulfilling its responsibility to provide the financial resources to achieve the
Mission.
Develop a Fundraising/Outreach Plan for review by the candidate; review and revise as necessary
Coordinate Major Donor program
Develop plans for campaigns as needed
Oversee the staff’s implementation of the Fundraising/Outreach Plan

FUNDRAISING RESPONSIBILITIES

Policy
– Thoroughly explore background issues relating to fundraising and public outreach
policies
– Present clear analyses of options to the Board
Committee Support
– Identify a variety of ways for Board members to help with fundraising
– Work with individual Board members to identify the tasks they are best suited to help
with

Planning
– Work with staff to gather and review background information (fundraising history,
marketing analyses, grantmaking environment etc.)
– Identify specific strategies for raising funds that fit with FBC’s mission, values and
capacity, and develop revenue projections from each strategy for budgeting purposes
– Present Fundraising/Outreach Plan to Board for review
– Review progress against plan at regular intervals; review overall plan at least every
three years

Major Donor Program
– Develop list of existing and potential major donors
– Develop individual strategies to build relationships with donors on list
– Coordinate implementation of relationship-building strategies
